The thing is, the Net lets distributed journalism actually make a difference -- like gathering experts to analyze a complicated bill and publish their findings BEFORE it comes up for vote. "We might catch a lot of sleazy stuff before it became law. Today we're lucky if we know about any of it before it actually passes."
